  • "My grandson, Dana, showed up at my home for a visit and I thought what a great picture that would be on the BSA. I'm a BMW motorcycle tech in Falmouth, Maine, and own BMW bikes but I enjoy riding this one the best." - Fred Doughty.
  • "Heading out west through Kansas, I thought I ran over this rattler but I managed not to hit him. When I stopped to check on him, he decided he liked it under my bike. I finally encouraged him to leave after about 15 minutes with a nudge from a long stick." - Howard Metzger of Estherville, Iowa.

  • "There were six of us on the tail-end of a three-week trip, stopping for gas and lunch in the (middle-of-nowhere) town of Beatty, Nev. As we waited (!) in line for gas, ahead of us we saw three or four bikes with United Kingdom license plates filling up. Conversation naturally ensued. One of the guys in the group looked awfully familiar, and it turns out that it was racing-legend Jamie Whitam (best known in America for World Superbike and MotoGP racing). I was born and raised in the UK and followed Jamie's exploits in the early 1990s. I think that he was more surprised than anyone that he had been recognized, especially considering where we were. He and his friends had shipped bikes over from the UK (although Jamie was on a rental), and they were on their way back to LA from the inaugural MOTOGP at Indy. He was extremely gracious and allowed a snapshot together - for me, this encounter captured the essence of our entire trip. It is the people unexpected that you meet on the road that make the journey memorable.<br />
Jamie is the one on the bike." - Richard Procter of Las Vegas
