"This was taken while I was in Port Au Prince with four other firefighters. We went down as a medical relief team. While in country our job was to go around the city to the make shift tents cites and look for injured people. We would treat who we could and transport the most serious to local hospitals. In nine days our team treated over 1,000 people. On our second day, the place we were staying at asked if any of our team could ride motorcycles. Of course we said yes, all of us in our group are motorcyclist and we weren't going to pass up the opportunity to ride through the streets of the city. We were given three brand new Kayak 125cc to use for our stay and we were unleashed to the streets. Once we learned that the only traffic rule was to honk before you did something (no matter how crazy), it was smooth sailing.  We went down to Haiti to help in some small way and to be able ride the streets among the people of Haiti was something I will always remember." - Kevin Denton of Port Angeles, Wash.

  • "My grandfather Gareld G. Collins(Papa) who is 97 this year was telling motorcycle stories and then showed me the attached pictures. The one with the deer was in 1937 on his 1937 Harley. He had been hunting and needed to get the deer back so he just loaded it up. The one in the snow was again in 1937 on his 1937 Harley. He paid $325 new for the Harley. The photo was at Crater Lake National Park. He told me they used to chain up the front tire and just go riding." - Darrel Collins of Yreka, Calif.

  • "I completed a 3,200 mile round trip from Charlotte, N.C., to the American Victory Rally (AVR) in Spirit Lake, Iowa celebrating Victory's 10th Anniversary. Spirit Lake is the final assembly plant for all Victory motorcycles. The trip was highlighted by the "Power Tour," a visit to the Osceola, Wis., engine plant for Victory engines, a stop at the technical center and corporate offices of Polaris Industries, the parent company of Victory motorcycles. I also visited the motorcycle museum in Anamosa, Iowa, along the way. This is my 2007 Kingpin. The photo was taken along the road outside Whittier, Iowa. It was a great trip with no problems, very little rain and I missed the turkey, deer and the black cat that crossed my path. I did, however, have AMA roadside assistance at the ready should the need arise!" - Paul Aiken of Huntersville, N.C.
