  • "My Dad was president of the Lions Club back in the 60's. I just turned 52 and was raised with all the members who were and still are bigger than life to this young boy who was incredibly fortunate to watch and be a part of this era. The Lions Club and their weekend races of Flat Track, TT, Desert and motocross are long gone, thus the pictures attached for your hopeful consideration. I was too young to be a member myself, so in honor of my Dad and all the men who wore the jersey's and painted helmets of the 60's; I surprised my Dad at a local short track in Perris Ca. (SCFTA) sanctioned event and instead of us watching these races, I pulled up to the line, (knobbie division) with all the old gear and threw the bike around for a 2nd place finish. Fans and riders couldn't believe that the Lions MC San Diego Club was still around! We'll the club is gone, but for this day and for a Father and Son, it was gift and an honor that I've dreamed about for my Dad and all the men who wore the colors." - Dave Otey of Lake Arrowhead, Calif.

I am currently enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, i have always loved to ride and race but growing up my grandparents who are the ones that raised me did not have the money. When I was 14 I was in a bad dirtbike wreck that completely tore off my ankle, which I ended up getting two plates and 12 screws in my ankle for, but the next day i was back on a bike hitting the same jump that i had wrecked on the day before but this time with a cast!!! I love too ride and would love to take my skills to the next level!!!"
